I wrote this song after looking at a video-montage of early Manic Street Preachers photos. I was thinking about how we look at these pictures and immediately begin creating fantasies round them. The pictures, if professionally taken, are devised so as to make this happen. Rock stars typically look moody and a bit alienated. They are post-Romantic outsiders who sing what we feel.
